I am considering purchasing a Mixtour Pro to control decks 3-4 when using my Rane One for decks 1-2 I’m curious to see if anyone has used a similar set up. Does it work well? Any issues or does it require remapping anything? I already have a Midi Fighter 3D and will prob sell this to buy the Mixtour. Any thoughts welcome.
Hey @SamJam, I don’t have a RANE One, but I have used the Mixtour Pro with other 2 channel controllers like the Reloop Ready.
- Mainly you’ll need to decide which device you want to use as your audio output. On iOS this is determined automatically; typically the last device connected becomes the default audio output.
- The Mixtour Pro can be switched to controlling Decks 3/4 using the built-in mapping so you shouldn’t need to remap anything.
- Just keep in mind that you’ll have 2 crossfaders, so it’s probably best to only use one of them or set the assignment to Thru at the bottom of the 4 Deck Mode in djay.
I hope that helps!
Brilliant this is the info I was looking for. Thankyou.
Hey @SamJam, did you end up adding a Mixtour Pro to your setup? I’m curious to hear how it worked out for you. I’ve been using this configuration more with my Reloop Ready lately. I’m quite happy with the workflow, and portability, especially with the new 4 Deck Hardware Mode on iPad.
@Slak_Jaw sounds like a great portable setup, but having the option to change deck order in 4deck mode would make it perfect
Is the sound quality noticeably better coming out of the Mixtour Pro? Should be, but is it?
the original mixtour doesn’t sound great. Wonder about the Ready … it’s in a very convinient form form factor …
@Slak_Jaw I didn’t get one yet. I am no considering holding off to upgrade to Rane One MK2 as I’ve been using my unit every weekend for the past few years.
