Title: Mixtrack Go CUE Buttons Sometimes Stop Working with djay for iOS 5.6.10
I’m using a Numark Mixtrack Go with djay for iOS version 5.6.10 on my iPhone17e, connected via USB-C.
Occasionally, both headphone CUE buttons stop working. Neither button lights up when pressed, and I cannot hear either deck through my headphones for pre-cueing.
All other controller functions, including playback and jog wheels, continue to work normally.
Restarting the djay app does not fix the issue. However, disconnecting and reconnecting the USB-C cable usually restores normal CUE button functionality.
This issue can occur immediately after connecting the controller. It has also persisted despite replacing the controller, so it does not appear to be an individual hardware defect.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a known bug in djay for iOS 5.6.10, or could it be related to USB connection initialization or MIDI communication?
Hi @shimisho, thanks for the clear write-up, and for swapping the controller already. That rules out a lot. Nothing in the 5.6.10 release notes touches the Mixtrack Go or pre-cueing. I have an Mixtrack Go myself and haven’t noticed this issue plus I’m not seeing other reports of this yet, so let’s narrow it down.
Both Headphone CUE buttons going dark at the same time while everything else keeps working points more toward djay losing the Go’s headphone output than a MIDI problem. Next time it happens, before you unplug, could you grab a screenshot of Settings > Audio Devices?
A few quick questions:
- When you say the Cue buttons don’t light up when pressed, are LEDs off completely or are they still illuminated, but dimmed?
- When this happens, do the onscreen headphone cue buttons still respond?
- Are you using the (built-in) MIDI mapping or a custom edit?
- Which iOS version is on the iPhone?
- When the CUE buttons die, does the main mix still come out of the Go, or does it jump to the phone speaker?
- Is the Go plugged straight into the iPhone with the included cable, or through a hub or adapter?
- Do you have a djay PRO subscription, or are you using the features the Go unlocks?
When it happens, try tapping Reset to Defaults in Settings > Audio Devices before you unplug. It’ll tell us whether djay’s audio routing is the culprit. Unplugging and reconnecting is fine to keep using in the meantime. I hope that helps!
Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
