Move a loop

Say I have set an automatic 4 bar loop in a track. Now I want to move the loop forward in the track. How do I do this? If it is possible, can I move it forward 4 bars, 8 bars, and etc…

I tried to extend it to 8 in real time then when it was in the last half drop to 4 but it immediately went to the first 4. I like the concept. I wonder if there are some ideas people have out there to get what Ipnorm wants with existing functionality.
