"My Files" Crate/tracks, Flickers/Gliches & Automatically scrolls to the top.

Ok, so I ran the following test:

  • My music files are stored on a SanDisk Extreme Pro 2TB external SSD.
  • I copied one of the folders from that drive and placed it inside the internal MacBook Pro hard drive.
  • I then tested both folders using the My Files.

Results:

  • When playing or cueing songs from the external SSD, the songs refresh every time.
  • When doing the same test with the copied folder on the MacBook Pro’s internal drive, the songs do not refresh.

what external app are you using? Serato? rekordbox?
remember “external apps” is using your Serato and Rekorbox library data. not DJay Pro.

My library is also on a 2TB, SSD external drive,

Did you analyse this folder? before testing it?

this issue happens to me only on “My Files” section and not “External Apps”

I’m really sorry, ment to write My Files (edited) :zipper_mouth_face:

Hi again @eecy_cee and @Pato_Selekta. No one on our team has been able to replicate this issue yet. Is it possible that you are running some other software that is modifying files on the external HD?

thanks for the follow up Slak_Jaw
I appreciate it,

it could be an external hard drive issue, To me it seems like DJay Pro keeps refreshing the crate/folder, It doesnt happen at all with “external Apps” but it only happens on “My Files”
again thanks for the help Slak_Jaw

You’re welcome @eecy_cee

I Think 5.6.2 has fixed this, I havent seen any glitching, or automatic scrolling to the top of my playlist,

I wont know for sure till I test it at my Gigs this weekend, but its looking promising Slak_Jaw. :ok_hand:

it didnt work, same thing, hopefully next update,

its the classic phantom issue, it works fine at home but the true test is out on the field, at events.

Hmmm… okay, thanks for the follow up @eecy_cee

its a wired issue,

I believe that the reason why this happens is cause DJay Pro “refreshes” the crate/folder everytime you click on a crate, hense why the crate glitches and scrolls to the top of the crate.

if I analyse the crate, maybe once or twice, this seems to be the workaround

that tells me that DJay Pro does not have to refresh the crate because I have analysed it manually,

If I restart DJay Pro, I have to anlyse that same crate again just for DJay Pro not to refresh that crate,

This never happens in “External Apps”

No refreshing of crate,

No Glitches and No scrolling to the top of crate.

Thanks @eecy_cee

i accidently found a solution and its exactly what I suspected thanks Slak_Jaw.

those files that I was trying to delete (on another thread) was actually files that DJay pro creates and is needed, maybe there’s DJay pro reference data saved to these duplicate file.

everytime I delete these duplicate files, DJay pro refreshes my crates recreating these files again,

once I leave these files alone, I dont have that issue anymore. (refresh and scrolling to the top)

only took me this long to figure it out.
