My iPad Air with latest iOS 8.1 gives me an error message when I connect my Pioneer DDJ ERGO

I updated my iPad Air to iOS 8.1 and installed djay 2. When I connect my Pioneer DDJ-ERGO it gives me an error message that the controller draws too much power. I’ve updated the firmware of the controller to the latest version but it gives the same message.

Please Help

Hi Fui,

What are you using as power source? Have you tried restarting or restoring your iPad?

Hmm, which firmware version do you have on your Ergo? Please take a screenshot of the firmware version number.

Thanks for the screenshot. The firmware version is OK. In this case, I recommend contacting Pioneer support directly.

In the meantime, if you have a powered external USB hub, you can try hooking it up in between:

connect the powered USB hub to your iPad

connect the Ergo to the USB hub

By the way, do you have the original lightning to USB adapter from Apple?

Same thing happened with the Traktor Audio 2 mkII so I returned it.
There is something really wrong with audio in iOS 8.x.

Hi Warren, I haven’t tried restarting it yet. Will do so now. I’m using the Pioneer DJC-WeCAi controller cable connected to a power outlet

Restarting it didn’t help, it still gives the same message

Version 1.4

Yes I do have the cable. I’ll try your suggestion and also contact Pioneer.

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem.

Please can someone answer this A.S.A.P. I have the same problem with the ergo!
The usb is connected to the Ipad mini & a wall socket power source.
