Native Instrument F1 Mapping For DJay pro Looper

Traktor Kontrol F1 Custom Mapping: Advanced Looper Workflow

This custom mapping transforms the Traktor Kontrol F1 into a sophisticated 8-track looper controller for djay Pro, featuring an optimized “Shift” layer to maximize your performance density. This configuration is designed for DJs who need quick, tactile control over complex loops without cluttering their workspace.

Workflow Explanation

This mapping splits your looper control into two distinct layers to streamline your performance:

  • Primary Layer (Tracks 1–4): Accessible immediately upon loading the mapping, these tracks are mapped for direct, “always-on” trigger and volume control. This ensures your foundational elements are always reachable for instant interaction.

  • Secondary Layer (Tracks 5–8): Accessed by holding a designated “Shift” modifier button. This layer houses the remaining 4 tracks for sample triggering and volume adjustments, keeping the interface clean and preventing accidental triggers during intense sets.

Key Features

  • Dual-Layer Control: Logic has been structured to separate Tracks 1–4 (Default) from Tracks 5–8 (Shift-modified), providing a more manageable hardware footprint.

  • Tactile Volume Management: Dedicated volume controls are mapped for all 8 tracks, with the secondary set (47, 48, 49, 50) configured to respond only when your shift modifier is engaged.

  • Performance Essentials: Includes a high-sensitivity rotary encoder for turntable1.speed (Sensitivity: 2) and a quick-toggle command for your music library visibility.

sidenote: anybody have any suggestions for what to do about a broken rotary encoder? poor thing got snapped off due to a drunk girl in the booth ages ago and this thing has been collecting dust ever since.

UNTIL NOW
