Neural Filter Knob - Add it back

Why did Djay Pro remove the old Neural Filter knob? Before it was a knob and now they’re pads. This means I cannot quickly glance up and see what the knob on my controller is set to or its rough position.

At least give us the option of changing it back instead of removing it all-together :sob:

Hi @PaulF, welcome to the Community! We replaced the Neural Mix sliders/knobs with buttons to allow for a more flexible and consistent layout. This makes it possible to dynamically assign other features like effects or beat jump. That said, I completely understand that you preferred the finer control of the sliders and I have already passed it along to the dev team – your input is important to us as we continue to improve and refine the experience.

One option we’re exploring is making the button press behave more like a virtual slider – for example, when you tap a stem button, it could smoothly fade to solo instead of switching instantly. I’d love to hear if that would solve your use case.

Another option would be to let you assign that same continuous Neural Mix fade behavior onto the filter knob dynamically(similar to how you can switch between EQ and Neural Mix EQ with those knobs).

Would either of these options be helpful to you? We’re actively thinking about how to bring back that level of control while keeping the layout flexible and consistent across all platforms.

We also implemented the Neural Mix Crossfaders around the same time. Perhaps this can be adapted into your workflow?

A button press to slider is definitely something to consider as long as people have the options to change it back to their preferred method .

Unfortunately the Neural Mix Cross faders don’t display the position of the Neural filter knob. Showing it on the Neural EQ would definitely be a start though!

I have the High EQ knob set to this and as you can see, it doesn’t show up in any of the Stems pads or faders. The only way to tell is either I look down at my controller or I look at the track itself.

I’ve loaded the untouched track in deck 1 to show the filter has been applied.

Thanks for the input @PaulF. I will pass this onto the dev team.
