Neural Mix Faders UI in Djay Pro

Device model : 2024 iPad Air M2
Version of operating system : iOS 17.7
Version of djay : 5.2.5
Hardware/controllers used : Reloop Mixtour Pro

Summary of the issue: UI bug where the Neural Mix faders do not update from the MIDI controls. Directly manipulating the UI faders works, but not apparently not from a MIDI control send.

How to reproduce the issue: In Djay Pro, when in Pro mode (for example) you enable the fader view, then click on the Neural Mix icon to see the Drums, Harmonic and Vocals faders. Now on the Mixtour Pro, enable the Neural Mix mode with the yellow button and then adjust the Neural mix values through the EQ knobs.

The wave form will show the adjustments, and you can hear them perfectly fine, the UI faders SHOULD reflect how much each NM value is being used, but they are not.

If however, you repeat the exercise for the EQ faders in the same way, you will see that they DO update as you twist the EQ knobs on the Mixtour Pro - in the Djay Pro UI.

Thanks very much.

James

Hi @James_Gillies, please note that there is a difference between Neural Mix EQs and Neural Mix Volumes (the faders). The MIDI mapping for the Mixtour Pro is designed to control only the Neural Mix EQs not the NM Volumes. So what you are experiencing is expected behaviour - these are different controls with separate UIs. These are not tied together. You can see the different MIDI commands within the MIDI Learn tool.

Hi @Slak_Jaw, ah… I see… OK fair enough - I didn’t realise that, I’ve switched on the additional “EQ” setting in the UI so that I can see the EQs change from EQ to NM.

That’s great… what was throwing me is that in the same screen area when you click on the fader icon along bottom row the EQ levels looked a bit like “volume” levels - but I fully accept that this is not the case with Neural Mix.

Thanks for clarifying this for me!
