NM causing mid/high EQ's to cut audio

Thanks for confirming @ryruss. This definitely sounds like a performance issue then as Key Lock requires considerable processing power. For now, I recommend you try to keep Key Lock off and keep the BPM of your songs close to neutral. Again, I would try connecting with a high quality USB cable as well.

Please also refer to the blog post below for some laptop optimization suggestions:

This never happened on my slower 8 RAM laptop, still doesn’t happen on the less performing laptop and didn’t happen on this newer 40 RAM laptop until recently.

How could I upgrade my laptop performance and it be fine then all a sudden get sound glitch and it be a Windows performance issue?

Hi @ryruss, we believe we may have discovered the source of the issue. As a temporary workaround, please try setting the Audio Buffer Size to 256 frames and let me know if that helps. Thanks!

Hello. That was one of the first things I did. I have not tried 512 yet though.

Sorry for the delay I have been on vacation.

Hopefully you are able to figure it out, I was going to uninstall and delete everything and try the program from scratch because I can’t understand why I’m getting the sound tick.

For the EQ cutouts, the only rational thought I can come up with is the 5.4 update added some more workload while using neural mix. I never had issues before using my 8 GB RAM laptop with my FLX 4 or DDJ RX but now I can’t use neural mix on it or the EQs will completely cut all audio if you move them past midline and I have to restart the program. It’s only happened once on the new laptop (the video I shared DJing at a pub). So hoping that was a one off.

Is there anyway possible to not have automatic updates in the future? I’m pretty frustrated all of my systems were running very smoothly then unknown to me an automatic update gives me complete audio loss cutouts and sound ticks. I spent a lot of $ on a higher performance laptop and even upgraded from a flash drive to a high speed SSD to rule out performance issues. I’ve spent hours troubleshooting and trying to not fall short in my business at these weddings and events. I’m hoping to not have something like this happen again.

Thanks!

Hi @ryruss, our team is aware of these recent bugs and is working hard on a patch which they hope to release next week.

The temporary workaround requires that you select 256 frames. Please try testing with that exact setting as the others won’t work for this temporary workaround.

Regarding Automatic Updates, you need to disable that on the Microsoft Store.

  • Open the Microsoft Store, click your profile photo, then go to Settings.
  • Under Application updates (in Windows 11) or App updates (in Windows 10), toggle off ā€œAutomatically update appsā€

Hello.

Thank you to you and the team for working on these bugs as fast as you can. I will attempt to use the 256 frame buffer for the time being. Will you update this thread when you have released a patch that you believe corrects these issues? That way I can test the program and my equipment.

I would appreciate it!

You’re welcome @ryruss. Yes, I’ll update the community when 5.4.2 is released.

Just to update the 256 still features sound ticks/glitches. That was the setting I had it on also as I increased it from 128 when the issue first started to see if it would resolve it. It did seem to possibly be less often but Im not sure.

Thanks for the follow up @ryruss, I’ll let the team know.

Hello. I have one more random observation that I was wondering if we could try. I doubt it will fix the issues but I’m not interested in keeping it anyways. Can you unregistered my mobile device? Thinking back I downloaded the app, linked my apple music, and messed around with the android mobile app right before the issues started as well.

I already uninstalled the app and I’m not interested in using it again. Wondering if Algoriddim could remove that device. There’s a chance that threw some things off and even if it didn’t Id like to remove my phone as one of my authorized devices and just keep my 3 laptops registered.

Thanks for considering.

I’m in the middle of a wedding and getting sound skips and glitches even having key lock off.

Very frustrating. Hopefully the Algoriddim team can fix this ASAP.

Sound glitch during my wedding set tonight

I don’t have the ability to remove a device from your account. Logging out of your ā€œMy djay Accountā€ on the device is all you need to do.

Thanks for the additional info and video @ryruss. Sorry to hear you’re still experiencing this issue with 256 frames buffer size and Key Lock off. The new update should be publicly available in a few days.

Hi @ryruss, 5.4.2 is rolling out to the various app stores and should be available to all users over the next several hours.

For more details on the full release, please see below:

Thank you very much for this update.

Fingers crossed it fixes the glitches I have been witnessing. If not, I will come back to the group and may possibly consider a complete wipe and restart of my Djay pro with all fresh files.

Thank you. I re-downloaded the phone app, logged out, then uninstalled it again.

You’re welcome @ryruss

No luck. I’m going to completely wipe my djay pro and start the app from scratch.

When the EQ cutouts happened on my other computer I transferred all my files and meta data from that computer to this new one.

Maybe the files are overwriting and causing problems?

So you have any other ideas? I’m really at a loss.

Deleted all meta data. Deleted mapping with a fresh built in mapping. Sound glitch still happening.

My next thought will be to call Lenovo I guess? I’m going to test the other laptop and see if I’m getting EQ cutouts still. I don’t get sound skips on that laptop that I’m aware of.
