No pre-cueing in headphones with CFX

  • Device model *M3 Macbook air, or iPhone 14 Pro
  • Version of operating system macOS Sonoma 14.6:
  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2): 5.2.4
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): DDJ-FLX10, FLX4 or just software on its own

I’ve discovered this bug now that i’m using the Crossfader FX more. I’ve noticed that if CFX is enabled, having the CUE on the inactive deck doesn’t send the headphones any sound. In order to be able to hear the song in CUE, you have to slightly open the crossfader, but then the audience hears this too!

Fix would be to allow us to hear inactive deck if CUE is enabled for that channel on the mixer/controller without having to toggle on/off the CFX mode each time we want to cue a song.

Hi there, this has been identified from the start of 5.0. Very complex apparently. Engineers are aware of issue. Not sure when it will get resolved though

Interesting. Didn’t think it would be complex compared to some of the stuff Algoriddm is pulling off. Can’t it send unaltered audio to the inactive channel when CUE is enabled? Effectively disable CFX and send audio with fader down like it does normally? right now I have to turn CUE ON, then CFX off, and then proceed to find a mix-in pointso it’s ready to go then CFX back on then CUE OFF.

Hi @djchase, no pre-curing when using CFX is currently expected behaviour. The dev team is aware of this and is investigating options. However, as @Dysfunk_DJ indicated above, this is not a simple fix. I’ll report back here when I have more news. Thanks.
