No settings saved on Djay Pro for Windows

Summary of the issue:
I just started the trial of pro with year sub to follow. Although I had to search forums for a way to actually get pro to work. I had to buy it on android by creating an account and using play store just to get it to work on Windows!

Everytime I launch the app none of my settings were saved. I have to input them everytime and thats not ok. Also I can’t even find an installation folder of where djay is installed to, it sure didn’t ask me. It’s convoluted for no reason.

I will be following this post very closely so please advise.

How to reproduce the issue:
Change any setting, close djay and reopen. All settings reset, everything. I reinstalled multiple times with system restarts in between as well. Same issue.

Even the music I’ve added disappears as well. Seems like nothing saves locally whatsoever..

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I also use the Windows version. Also on different Windows systems. And I have never had this problem. What kind of user are you using? What rights does the user have?

Have you ever tried uninstalling DJay and reinstalling it?

Hiya Micha, thanks for trying to help me. I definitely am on an administrator account. I also signed out of microsoft account and back on again.

I’ve also uninstalled many times now and reinstalled but to no avail. I just can’t figure this out. It’s like it’s only creating a temporary Djay app like if it was a portable version that loads fresh everytime I start it. Still no information on where it’s installing to as my searches don’t show an installation.

Just ran windows update health scan, sfc scsn and no missing or corrupted files found. Ran multiple AV scans including boot time, no issue.

Created new user account on windows with Admin rights, installed Djay Pro and same result. I’m out of options on my own.

I backed up my files and projects, did a clean install and now all is well! Not really sure what was blocking proper installation of Djay. My guess is it had something to do with the Microsoft Store.

Very nice that it works now. Whatever it was, we won’t find out now. But the most important thing is that it works now.

Greetings Micha

My thoughts are that since both problems began with the store when I couldn’t buy the program and with the improper installation(Nothing Saved), which seems too coincidental.

****So my conclusion is the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is the culprit. I had set up for some time with no issues and it became part of my normal everyday OS until now. It is no longer supported by Microsoft. Anyways just wanted to let yall know
