No sound & program hangs

Hi,
I’m a user of DJ 2.3.2 for Mac (Macbook Pro 2,26 GHz Core Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR 3 - OSX El Capitan 10.11.2).
Haven’t used DJ in a while. Now, when I open the program and pull a track to the turntable, I get no sound and potmeter shows no input.
When I try to check the devices tab in the prferences, the program sometimes hangs. I also have only one option each in the audio devices tab.
Also, when I stop a song, the program hangs.
Main problem is no sound though.
Maybe DJ 2.3.2 is no longer compatible with OSX El Capitan? (But I paid almost 50 bucks for it!)

Any ideas?
