Hi. I have two problems. First, I can’t figure out how to unlock the free version of djay. I have a Reloop PTB2 mixer. It is supposed to unlock the free version of djay. I got it to turn DVS on once - not sure what I did, but I could see both turntable signals, and the calibration on both completed fine. Now, when I try to turn DVS on, it brings up a subscription window. When I close and it try to turn DVS back on it just keeps bring up the subscription page, and it won’t turn DVS on. I tried both “source” switches on the front, and I have the USBC cable configured correctly.
Second issue - I can’t get audio out through my Adam speakers when using DVS. When I have djay audio driver set to WASAPI, I get audio fine when playing both virtual decks (with computer audio files, not audio from my mixer). When I try to turn DVS on, it says I have to use ASIO. When I switch to ASIO, the only output option is Reloop. Is it possible to have DVS in from the Reloop PTB2 mixer and audio out to Adam speakers? I’m also wondering how to have audio in from the mixer (not DVS, just regular audio from turntables) on one side, with DVS only on second side, with audio out through Adam speakers. I did use their (short) USBC cable. I tried all configurations, not unlocking.
I got DVS working, but it was glitchy at first, and my mixer was not controlling volume or crossfader. Previously, I already had “Reloop-Universal-ASIO_v6.0.0” installed because djay prompted me to install it. I uninstalled that and tried ASIO4ALL. I got DVS working, but the controls on the mixer do nothing. I then reinstalled “Reloop-Universal-ASIO_v6.0.0”. When I use the Reloop Asio driver, I get a signal in DVS, but no audio. When I switch it back to ASIO4ALL, it’s the same as it was - I get DVS working (including pass thru with regular vinyl), but the mixer controls do nothing. I tried three different USBC cables, including very high quality cables I know work well in all other applications, and including the cables that came with mixer. It can’t be the cable. The mixer does work on it’s own, perfectly, with analog vinyl and analog main audio out to some regular stereo speakers. I’m stuck on getting the mixer to control djay though.
Update, short version: Reloop thinks my mixer is bad.
Details: I had emailed Reloop, and their online support is not good. I’ve had several dealings with them. Sometimes they’re quick, and other times they never respond. For this issue, I probably should have tried to get them on the phone first, but thought I’d try here, for two reasons - first, the mixer works fine in full analog mode, and second, djay was getting DVS signal. So I called the retailer today and asked it they had a number for Reloop tech support. They referred me to American Music and Sound, who is apparently the U.S. distributor for Reloop. AMS was helpful. They got me in touch with a tech guy who has used the mixer. He said, if the mixer is hooked-up correctly with the correct cables, and you have the current Reloop Asio installed, if you go to Windows sound output options and choose the mixer as the output device, then audio should play through the speakers - this is not using djay at all, just testing the mixer as a standalone USB audio interface. I could see the mixer was getting a signal because the LED lights were moving, but there was no audio coming out. When I changed sound output to my Adam speakers, they were working fine. Then, he wanted me to try with djay just to be safe. So we tried this on two Windows computers. If the audio device is set to Asio and Reloop, which it was, then when you load a track into djay, it should play through the mixer, back out of the mixer, and out of the speakers. Again, I could see the mixer was getting a signal, but no audio out. We tried moving the switches on the back and front around, but did no good.
So the retailer will pay to ship it back for a refund, but they’re out of them, so I can’t get a replacement. I could keep it and take my chances sending it to Reloop for repair, but I’m not willing to take that chance after 8 hours of trying to troubleshoot. Anyway, thanks for reading. I just wanted to document this in case it happens to someone in the future. If I get another one, I’ll update the thread with my findings. Cheers
