Hi @afternoontea_11, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the details about the issue and your setup. Can you please be more specific about what isn’t working with the jogwheel displays? Perhaps you could share some photos or a short video to clarify? Thanks!
Also, please make sure you are running the latest firmware and drivers for the Platinum FX from Numark.
Hi @Slak_Jaw
Can you please be more specific about what isn’t working with the jogwheel displays? Perhaps you could share some photos or a short video to clarify?
The issue began from 0:35 in this video.
It sometimes occurs when I’m not doing anything, but in many cases it happens when I adjust the volume. (e.g. master volume, Level, etc…)
I tried several times with different types of USB adapters, but it still occurred.
please make sure you are running the latest firmware and drivers for the Platinum FX from Numark.
My Platinum FX version is 1.10 (latest)
Thanks
Thanks for the video @afternoontea_11 - this is very helpful.
- Are you using the (built-in) MIDI mapping or a custom edit?
- Are you connecting your USB cable directly to your laptop or are you using a hub or adapter?
- If you are using a hub or adapter please try connecting directly instead.
- Please also try connecting to a different USB socket on your Mac.
- Does the issue occur if your laptop is also connected to power and charging?
@Slak_Jaw Thanks!
This issue doesn’t occur in Serato Lite or Serato Pro, I think it is specific to djay.
- Are you using the (built-in) MIDI mapping or a custom edit?
buit-in MIDI mapping
- Are you connecting your USB cable directly to your laptop or are you using a hub or adapter?
both. I tried
- USB Type-B to Type-C cable (directly connected)
- Anker Type-C to Type-A hub (with Type-B to Type-A cable)
- Anker Type-C 5-in-1 hub (with Type-B to Type-A cable)
It occurred with all of these.
- If you are using a hub or adapter please try connecting directly instead.
I tried, but it failed.
- Please also try connecting to a different USB socket on your Mac.
I tried 2 ports. but failed.
- Does the issue occur if your laptop is also connected to power and charging?
Yes. It happened even during charging.
Thanks for the additional info @afternoontea_11. I can’t think of anything else to check. This seems like it could be an issue with the hardware, but I’m going to pass this onto our hardware team to see if they can replicate it. In the meantime, you could try a fresh install with the recently released djay 5.4.3.
- I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay.
- You can find the files above in the following location on macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
- Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay.
- Uninstall djay from your Mac and reboot.
- After rebooting, download the latest version of djay from the official App Store.
- After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
@Slak_Jaw
Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
I also tested on another Windows desktop PC I have, and when using a USB hub the problem occurred immediately, but when using the PC’s own USB port the problem did not occur.
From this, I believe—just as you suspected—that the cause is insufficient power supply to the MIDI controller.
However, Serato did not have the issue when using Windows + USB hub.
Serato might have special handling to tolerate brief drops in power without causing problems.

Thanks for the additional info.
Hi again @afternoontea_11, can you please confirm that you only had djay open when you experienced this issue? If you are running any other apps in the background, please close them all and retest. Thanks!
Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
