OneLibrary export bug when using Sync on CDJ3000X

When using tracks analysed in DJaypro 5.5.1 and exported to USB - they do not sync correctly when using the sync function on the CDJ3000X (latest firmware).
Things I’ve observed using the sync function

  1. track start is often not quantised, especially when starting a track in a loop
  2. sync doesn’t lock properly ‘lock’ onto to the master track in some cases, grid markers are not aligned and the waveforms jump around, moving further in/out of sync
this behaviour sounds very similar to this post Sync issues on Rane one - #2 by Slak_Jaw

also, I’ve previously opened a topic on the poor quality of the waveform on the CDJ3000X screen compared to a regular waveform.
I’ve made a video showing the waveform issue and some of the sync behaviour problem.

I raised this issue with AlphaTheta support and they said that as the export has come from DJay pro, to contact you guys about it.

I’ll see if I can capture a video showing the bug relating to point 2 above

Which version of the CDJ3000x firmware → 3.2 or the 3.3?

1.20 on the 3000X

3.20 and 3.30 both relate to the regular 3000

Hi @Phil909, can you please try uploading your video again? I’ve tried to watch it on multiple platforms and it won’t play. Alternatively, you can upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to it here. Thanks!

Please also provide specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”.

Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):

try this link maybe, it’s a dropbox link

Device Model Mac Studio M1
Version of operating system OS 15.7.2
Version of djay 5.5.1
Hardware/controllers used AT CDJ3000X
Hardware Firmware Version 1.20

Thanks @Phil909, I was able to download your video. Here it is for others to reference:

@Phil909,

  1. Can you please confirm the exact steps you use to export your songs from djay onto your USB drive?
  2. What file format are you using?
  1. files imported to DJPro via locating using the Mac icon in the left hand nav bar. right click to analyse files. once analysed, right click on folder in ‘My Files’ and select ‘Add to USB Library’ and add to my Rekorbox USB drive.
  2. These particular files are M4a - purchased and downloaded from Apple Music. I can share the originals with you if you can provide an email address? I’ve not had time to extensively test lots of other files but I do remember seeing the sync glitching in other files types, mp3 & Flac in my initial tests. The distorted waveforms are common to all files types too.

I also managed to capture a video of the sync glitching out / jumping in and out of sync - it happens around 10 seconds in.
I’ve used the CDJ3000 and now the 3000X extensively since they came out and have never seen this happen before.

Hi @Phil909, from your desicription, it sounds like you are not using OneLibrary. Please refer to the linked FAQ below on how to use the new OneLibrary feature in djay and let me know if this helps.

sorry, my description wasn’t the best (it was early this morning). I’m definitely using OneLibrary.

Okay, thanks for clarifying @Phil909. I’ll share this and your second video with engineering to see if they can reproduce this.

I’m happy to share the original files too should the team need them

Yes, please share the original files

can you give me an email address to send to as probably not best to share via the forum?

You can send it to me here via DM

Hi there Slak, this has been now sent to you

Received the original files. Thanks @Phil909

Hi @Phil909, our engineer was able to reproduce this, but this doesn’t seem to be a djay issue, as it’s the exact same behavior when beat syncing tracks exported from Rekordbox while a loop is active before playback. The video below shows the same tracks you used exported from Rekordbox. You can see in the beginning, that without an active loop on Deck 2, beat sync works correctly. But when a loop is active on Deck 2 before starting playback, it won’t snap to the grid of the track on Deck 1.

Hi Slak, thanks for the reply & much appreciated. I’ll open a ticket with Pioneer/AT and see what they say.
Did the engineer manage to figure out why the waveforms generated by DJay were so distorted by any chance?
