Hi. That, on Windows and macOS. Like on iOs and android.
For djing at home at night without speaker and with a controler without this option.
Hi @PatriceCros, perhaps I’m misunderstanding what you want, but I believe this is aready available. Please see below for Windows in the djay Settings>Audio Devices>Pre-Cueing> Split Output.
Not really. it allows to split cue but goes through the main output.
I would like to have split cue only on the headphone (2nd stereo output) and maintain the main output (1st stereo) output normal stereo.
It should be an optional toggle (split cue) on the right side of the Pre-Cueing blue text and allow to chose from the drop down menu the 2nd output. at the moment, its one or the other.
Can you please share screenshots of the setting in iOS that matches your suggestion?
Are you talking about using a DJ mono headphone splitter cable or the headphone cueing option of splitting the pre-cue so the left headphone is cueing and the right headphone is the master?
I dont have iOs but android. I understand that on those, the split output goes to the main sound out.
But on my controller with windows (or macOS), if you select split output, as i said, it applies to the main output. it should apply to the second selected output chosen.
the problem is that’s in the same menu so you have to choose one or the other.
I’d like a “Split Cue” option for the headphone (2nd output) and NOT a “Split output” for the Main. Like on profi mixer.
I dont want it on android. I want it on windows or macOS
You said you want Windows and macOS to match what is done on iOS and Android. I believe they already do. That’s why I’d like you to share the screenshot please.
re- read my post please, I’d like a “Split Cue” for headphones only, and not a “Split Output” for the main. On windows and macOS.
It’s how it works on professional mixer.
I dont want to match the iOs or android Split Output,
So this as asked above?
I think you confuse
_ my option demand : “Split Cue” for the headphones (2nd output drop down menu)
_ the actual option : “Split output” that applies to the main output.
Okay I believe we are on the same page now. However, djay handles Split Cue differently than other software I believe. It’s not done in the audio settings. I’m on the road at the moment so do not have access to a MIDI controller to confirm exactly. If you look through the MIDI commands, you should find something like Split Cue. There may also be a keyboard shortcut option for this on macOS.
I have custom MIDI mapped this on other DJ controllers that don’t have this built into the hardware.
On a Mixon 8, the “Cue Split” toggle over the crossfader applies only to the headphone (2nd) output, and does not split the Main output.
I dont have a Mixon, so I would like this option in software, like in Serato.
Thanks
djay does not offer SplitCue(headphone) but only SplitOutput (main), that the problem. There should be the 2 options.
Thanks anyway.
Patrice
You’re welcome @PatriceCros It does actually. Did you miss my comment above?
Can you please share a screenshot of how this is handled in other software like Serato. It sounds like we could change/improve the current behavior/settings. Thanks!
Okayyy. Yes, I can toggle Split Cue through Midi mapping.
Thanks.
( but it could still be an option in the settings…)
You’re welcome @PatriceCros. If you share a screenshot of how this looks in Serato, I will also pass this onto the dev team for consideration.
I dont have serato. Used it by a friend.
