Hi,
When I have the setting “Save active loop when setting cue point” enabled and set a Hot Cue with a loop selected, the loop icon appears on the hot cue button and when the hot cue is selected the loop automatically engages. I can turn off the loop by clicking on the icon and deactivating the loop.
Is it possible to not have the loops automatically switch on when a hot cue is selected? With the option of turning on the loop if required?
I like associating loops with hot cues and having then both on a single button, removing the need for either navigating to a seperate loop tab or having the loop bar taking upi valuable screen real estate.
Delete cue loop. Set cue first, then save loop after. You will have a normal cue point sitting on a saved loop. No loop trigger will happen when u hit that cue, but your loop will also be there.
Otherwise the essence of cue loop was to make triggering cue a one-step thing, so what yu’re asking is essentially taking back the very essence
But if I’m right in the way this works (having just tried what you suggested), this doesn’t add the small loop icon to the hot cue button, right? Only if the loop is created first. I wish to be able to see at a glance of the hot cue if there is also a loop there, which I could then decide to enable if needed. Instead of either having to have the loop bar open or tab to the loop page.
I understand the functionailty currently in place and the reason behind it, but if you kept the exact same thing but had an option such as “Saved Cue Loops - Start disabled”, which is just an inverted state of what you have now, wouldn’t that be considered additional functionalilty that might be useful to users in some circumstances?
Hi @damofinn, it’s not currently possible to enable/disable automatic looping of the Hot Cue Loops - they are always enabled. However, I will share this with the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button above so we can gauge user demand for this setting. Thanks!
We definitely want this feature. it’s really annoying to use right now. If I want to activate a saved loop while playing a different part of the song, I always end up jumping cue. on iOS is even worst! The “activate” icon is too small to embedded within the cue button. no body have that tiny finger, It should also be available as a toggle in the Edit Cue menu.
and it should stay in active once you activated like memory cue rekordbox, right now is just don’t do what it suppose to do.
As a workaround, why not simply use loops and deactivate a loop after you’ve triggered one in case you only need a cue? It’s also two presses, which would be more or less the same as what you’re asking, right? Also, I’d guess that most of the time you’ll have plenty of time to deactivate the loop…
