Okay… I have the SB3… I have much of it mapped, but I have a few requests:
1: Can there be a way to use the Master Pre-Cue button to toggle monitoring the master just like a normal channel source instead of toggling the Monitor Cue/Mix? This way, you can monitor each source individually, with the master, or the master by itself.
2: I can’t figure out how to map the Channel Level LEDs to the output level of each channel… There doesn’t seem to be a way to add JUST an output mapping in the midi mapping.
3: Can you add the option to map Jog Seek in the Track Preview? I like to map Track Preview to SHIFT+Browse Press and Track Preview Jog Seek to SHIFT+Browse knob.
I have only mapped some simple functionality. I haven’t done ANYTHING to the FX Fade, PAD Scratch, or Sampler modes. I haven’t incorporated the 3 or 4 decks… I only mapped what I need and I remapped what I don’t to other things. You really don’t want my mapping…
Yeah, the Master Cue at this point doesn’t seem to have a way to be mapped the way it was intended to work. To be fair, this is the first controller I’ve seen that doesn’t have the Cue Mix knob… so I’m sure they will integrate it into the next one. I’ve only been able to make the master cue button toggle between full mix cue and full pre-cue. I tried to get clever with mapping the button as a knob, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to map a button to toggle to a specific value to a knob, like in Traktor.
Serato would be great if it had Spotify integration. Every software has its issues and if you think you can do better, I look forward to the DJ software that you code and release.
You should be able to map it to the library selection. When you turn an encoder in the midi map screen, there are only 4 options of things you can map it to in the browser category. The top one is library selector. I have it working in my mapping. I did have to check the invert button on the command to get the correct direction of rotation.
Correct. And Virtual DJ has its own issues (terrible sounding mixer and effects, instability and crashes, etc…) EVERY DJ software has its issues. You just have to choose the one that fits your needs most.
You don’t need to map your headphone volume. The headphone volume knob adjust the analog output level. Just make sure your monitor volume is all the way up in Djay.
Am I the only one frustrated with all of your impatience? I do want to keep this positive, but you are acting like you paid for this software update… this is a FREE update for a controller that wasn’t released for use with this software. If you are REALLY that upset about it, make the mapping yourselves. Seriously, I know there are features it would be nice to have, but Pioneer did some unconventional things with the DDJ SB3 from a midi implementation perspective and it takes time to add and test these features. So what if you don’t have VU meters and so what if you have to be a little more creative with how you use your cue mix? If you have a problem… go buy a controller that already works with DJay, and stop asking a company to do more work, for free, faster. And if you are seriously THAT incapable of making a mapping that works for now, I will start charging for my bare-bones mapping (seriously took me less than an hour to make) and a video of how it works.
Sure… but do you have the right to demand stuff that wasn’t part of the original purchase agreement? You didn’t buy DJay being promised it would work with the SB3… so how do you get off telling them to “hurry up” with their update?
I will always offer respect to everyone, until they prove to be ungrateful and disrespectful themselves. DJay doesn’t HAVE to support any controller that comes out after this point. You should be grateful for the fact that they are saying they WILL support it. And, if you are making business decisions that rely on software to work with hardware it doesn’t work with, you are making BAD business decisions. I also rely on DJing to make a living, but I don’t blame the software company for incompatibility with another company’s hardware when I’m not paying them anything more to support it. I hope they charge you for the DDJSB3 add-on compatibility so we can hear you further complain about something that SHOULD be free.
Look up in this forum at some of the things being said about the development team and tell me they are not disrespectful. I hope you all grow up and realize what is happening here. Let’s look at the bigger picture, be grateful for the amazing work they’ve done on DJay already and be excited about future updates.
Plus, if ANY of you think that complaining and whining and telling people to go buy Serato when it’s on sale (Larry) on the Algoriddim forum is going to HELP them come out with this update (which again, they are also doing at no cost to you) any sooner… then you are absolutely delusional. Put your patience pants on and wait for your free stuff you entitled, misguided, trolls.
And I realize this has gotten WAY out of hand, but I am so sick and tired of software engineers getting the short end of the “thankless job” stick when ALL they hear is complaints. So for once, before this comment gets removed, THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK, ALGORIDDIM!!! YOUR SOFTWARE IS EXCELLENT AND IM SO EXCITED TO BE A CUSTOMER OF YOURS!!!
Oh my god!!! Have you not read ANY of this thread?!?! Take your impatience, roll it into a burrito, top it with all of your entitlement, and shove it DIRECTLY UP YOUR ASS!!!
