I was wondering if anyone has found a way to connect an iOS device (iPad/iPhone) to the Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus 2 and use it with Algoriddim’s Pro DJ app. As far as I know, official support for this setup is not available yet.
I have iPad Air 5 (18.3.2 Firmware) and 900 nxs 2 with last 2.07 Firmware.
This mixer is extremely popular worldwide, and I believe many DJs would love to have the ability to use it with iOS devices. Has anyone managed to make it work through an alternative method or workaround?
Before getting the DJM-900 Nexus 2, I was using a DJM-A9, and my iPad worked flawlessly with it. I really enjoyed playing music from my iPad while using my DVS setup with timecode vinyl and two turntables. However, I wasn’t a fan of how big the DJM A9 is. It takes up a lot of space, even though it doesn’t have significant differences from the DJM-900 Nexus 2 in terms of my needs. That’s why I decided to switch back to the DJM-900 Nexus 2.
Also, if you’re interested in this feature, let’s discuss it and maybe push Algoriddim to consider adding support for it!
Your Djm900nx2 is not class compliant therefore it will not work on iOS. There is no work around unless you have something like this Reloop Flux - Reloop and there’s nothing Algoriddim can do about it. In order for it to work on macOS or windows you’ll need to download drivers from pioneer.
I don’t understand this at all. What exactly is the problem? My mixer works with my MacBook and the DJ Pro program. I want to understand why specifically it is not possible to support this mixer on iOS systems.
It’s all down to whether a device is usb class compliant or not. Your device isn’t class compliant and therefore won’t work with iOS. Class compliant devices don’t need drivers to work, they are essentially plug and play. This issue is with the manufacturer.
