Pioneer v10, dvs and cdjs

Hi there,

I’m looking to use djay pro on my MacBook Pro, connected to a pioneer v10 with two turntables using dvs and two cdjs 3000. I may potentially expand out into a djs1000 into the future.

Just wondering whether this kind of setup is possible with djay pro? Also could someone explain the limitations of the v10 not being supported by djay pro. Does it mean I have to do the mappings myself or is there more to it than that?

Thanks

i’m interested, too. i saw on YT, that AlphaTeta’s Euphonia will be supported, although inofficially. So there might be a chance for V10 as well once it seems to be based on same technology.

Hi @ctdfuk, yes this setup should work fine.

  1. You will be using the V10 as an external mixer for djay so all of the mixing will be done on the hardware instead of using djay’s internal mixer (https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912271-How-do-I-use-an-external-mixer-with-djay-Pro-for-Mac).
  2. You could also manually MIDI map the controls on the V10 that send MIDI signals if you want to ( How do I MIDI map a controller on djay Pro AI for Mac? – Algoriddim Support).
  3. The CDJ3000s are natively supported with djay on macOS.
  4. For more about DVS setup please refer to the links below:

Thanks for confirming. Can I use the mixer itself for dvs or will I need an additional sound card?

Also for older cdjs can I use the Serato cds with djay?

You’re welcome @ctdfuk. You should confirm with Pioneer if this mixer is DVS compatible without an external soundcard. The DVS CD’s must use a control tone of 1kHz to work with djay. So, if that’s is what the Serato CD’s use, then they should work.
