I’m using djay Pro on an iPad with a Pioneer XDJ-RX1. Audio is currently coming from the iPad through a Serato splitter cable so I can cue in my headphones.
The problem is that Screen Recording captures the cue channel as well as the master, so my recorded mixes are unusable. (Can’t use inbuilt recorder as I mix via streaming)
Is there any solution for using the inbuilt sound card of my pioneer controller? I read that it previously wasn’t supported about 6 years ago.
Could there be a hardware solution? Has anyone successfully used a class-compliant USB audio interface with 4 independent outputs (master + headphone cue) on iPad with djay Pro?
Also, are there any output-only interfaces (I don’t need mic inputs), or does anyone have a recommended interface that works well with this setup?
Hi @CrabJuice, the XDJ-RX1 is not supported on iOS devices. This hardware is not class compliant so it won’t work properly with iOS devices. I recommend you use it with djay on a macOS or Windows device instead.
Thanks for confirming. As an alternative, does djay Pro on iPad support class-compliant USB audio interfaces with separate master and headphone cue outputs? If so, can you recommend any models that are known to work well?
You’re welcome @CrabJuice. Yes it does. Your best option at the moment is the Reloop Flux Go or the Reloop Flux. However there have been reports of issues on older iOS versions. Disabling Bluetooth on your iOS device may solve latency issue. Please see topic below for more info:
I just solved it I had an audio interface that was class compliant already (just a cheap AliExpress one)
I plugged that into my USB hub along with iPad and speaker output. Then in my Djay pre cue settings, set the pre cue to the audio interface (with headphones connected). My main speaker output stayed on the iPad out channel. Now my pre cue and output are seperate!!
