I thought about that too and you’re right, it looks better here. When I was djing Saturday night my concern was that those levels looked good in the cue but when I mixed in they peaked. I’ve never had that happen. I will test during the week but I turned down the main output volume in the software to -6 db. If that still happens will try -9. Hoping this will help.
I saw a few people mention that earlier threads. My first idea is to lower the main output to -6 or -9 db. At 0 or “none” I realized the channel and the main volume were just about maxed out. So I opened my serato and compared levels. Serato’s default master volume barely goes past halfway point. This looks to match up visually to -9 db but will start at -6. My issue on Saturday was when I used the upfader to bring in the mix the channel levels that were beautifully in the green in the cue, suddenly jumped into the red. Wish I thought to try and lower the main output at the event.
I agree. Right now it’s not really useful IMO. Especially if you play multi decade cross genre tunes. Which is where an advanced implementation would be golden.
I own Platinum Notes too, but I’d prefer a good solution inside DJAY.
I even think Algoriddim should change the default setting to Pickup imho.
Yes serato auto gain is set to 92db. I don’t see one for djay pro.
I’m going to look into this.
Hello everyone! I’m happy to report that we’ve made some improvement to Auto-Gain in the 5.3 release.
• Auto gain: decoupled manual gain on hardware controllers from auto gain in software to allow for independent adjustments
• Auto gain reset: double taping the gain knob first resets to auto gain level when auto gain is active, double tapping again resets to zero
For the full 5.3 release notes, please refer to the topic below. Thanks!
Ok, but now hardware gain knob is not corresponding anymore to software gain knob (DDJ FLX10, IOS iPad), regardless the software gain settings. Is that intentionally?
Hi @turbopussy, yes, this is expected behavior when using Auto-gain. We have decoupled the hardware gains from the onscreen gains when using Auto-gain to prevent sudden jumps in gain value when you want to make a minor adjustment via hardware. If you want the onscreen gains to move with your hardware, please disable Auto-gain in the settings. I hope that helps!

Thanks a lot! This works sooooo much better!!
Making the gain knob in the software better visible (bigger / more outstanding) including the value when mouse over (just like the high/mid/lows) would be the next step.
You’re welcome @DJ_Big_Blender. Thanks for the positive feedback. You’re other comments have been noted as well.
What are your settings @DJ_Big_Blender ? Autogain ON anthe other settings OFF?
Thanks
Yes, correct.
I have Autogain On, Save & Restore Off.
