Pref setting to ignore space bar with external keyboard

Need a preference setting to ignore the space bar when using an external keyboard on iPad. Accidentally pressing on the spacebar live, well, embarrassing…

In my case I only use the keyboard to search for things so I would be fine (even better) with an option that turns off all keyboard assignments. So the keyboard only works in Djay when in a text field.
