Problem Connection 2 Controller

2024iPad Air m2 13‘‘
IOS 18.2.1
Djay 5.2.7
Reloop Mixtour Pro
Pioneer DDJ-400

Is there a solution for the following problem: I cannot connect my Reloop MixTour Pro alongside a DJ-400 to my iPad Air. As soon as I connect a hub, like the Apple Video Adapter, the Reloop MixTour is no longer recognized. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is it a hub like the Apple Adapter or is it the Apple Adapter? That can make a difference. And are you using an external power supply with sufficient power? Perhaps it is also due to the USB cables. Different things can be relevant, so it’s not easy to name a definitive solution. In principle, however, it is possible to connect two controllers, although of course only one can be used for audio output.

Thank you for your response! I am using the original Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, but I have also tested the ISY IAD-1028 USB-C Adapter. Regarding power, I’ve tried several original Apple power supplies, including one with 90W output, so power shouldn’t be the issue.

For cables, I’m using original Apple USB-C cables, while the connection for the DDJ-400 uses USB Type-B. However, even if I connect only the Reloop MixTour to one of the adapters, it is still not recognized.

What also confuses me is that everything works perfectly when I connect my MacBook Pro 2020 using the original 65W adapter through the Reloop MixTour Pro directly to the first USB-C port, and the DJ-400 through one of the mentioned hubs to the second USB-C port. This setup works flawlessly with the MacBook, but not with the iPad Air.

Do you have any further suggestions or ideas on why this might happen?

Hi @DJ_Gill, please try the following in the exact order shown:

  1. Disconnect all cables and adapters from your iPad and DJ controllers.
  2. Close djay.
  3. Perform a Forced Restart of your iPad.
  4. After restarting, connect your powered USB-C hub to your iPad and confirm there is a blue peripheral icon in the top right of your iPad screen.
  5. Connect your original Apple charger and cable to the USB-C hub and confirm that your iPad is charging.
  6. Connect your DJ-400 controller to the USB hub using a high-quality USB cable (ideally with dual ferrites on either end).
  7. Confirm that your DJ controller powers up.
  8. Connect your Mixtour Pro controller to the USB hub using a high-quality USB cable (ideally with dual ferrites on either end). Also connect the Mixtour Pro to power via the second USB-C socket, then power it on.
  9. Launch djay.
  10. Open the djay Settings>MIDI Devices and confirm that your controllers are shown under MIDI DEVICES.
  11. If not, scroll down to the bottom and press Rescan for MIDI Devices.
  12. If this doesn’t work, unplug the USB cable from your DJ controller(s) for a second then plug it back in.
  13. If this doesn’t work, try a different USB cable.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
