hi guys i’m having a really annoying issue when scratching in tracks at the start they will randomly pause and appear to be re analysing the track, am also using neural mix I have tried using smaller playlists and the problem still persists. I am using flacs also. I have attached a link to google drive which has a video demonstration of this issue, thank you

Hi @thebigmakconspiracy, thanks for the video and explanation of the issue - this is very helpful. You mentioned that you are using FLAC files.

  1. Are these stored on your Mac internal drive or on an external drive or in iCloud?
  2. Have the songs been fully analyzed before you start playing them?
  3. Are you running any other applications in the background other than djay? Thanks!

I noticed this issue occurs when a track has not fully loaded from a streaming service (Tidal in my case) and the software allows the track to partially start. The effect is more pronounced depended on the internet speed (track loading time). It may also happen if track is analysing. I find this acceptable if you need to start the track quickly.

Hello! It’s been more than a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hello my apologies for the delay.

The files are stored on my mac internal drive.
The songs are fully analysed.
Have closed all applications and bluetooth, which makes the problem less severe but does still occur, specifically at the beginning of a track where it appears to try and analyse the track again.

I’m also having an issue where a sample I had loaded to a pad triggers randomly, even though I have removed it from the pad altogether. Unsure if this is related but its probably a seperate issue. Thanks for your time

Hi @thebigmakconspiracy, thanks for the additional info.

  1. Are you using any USB adapters or hubs to connect your controller to your laptop? If so please try connecting directly instead.
  2. Please also try using a different USB cable. Preferably a high quality one with dual ferrites on either end.
  3. You could also try connecting to a different USB port on your Mac.
  4. If that doesn’t solve it, can you please install the MIDI Monitor app and do a screen recording while scratching so we can confirm the proper MIDI signals are being sent?
