The Rane 4 effects panel is pretty much unusable with MacOS DJay Pro. I am running version 5.25 on mac 14.6.1 m3 with 16 GB ram with the latest version of the Rane 4 software installed on my Mac.
When I toggle on the effect, it always picks FX1 regardless of the button that I pressed. What I have to do at the start of my sets is click all the buttons on and off a few times on both the hardware and software side and trigger the fx and then it syncs and starts working. Even when I switch to the onboard Rane 4 effects, it still triggers the DJ Pro FX1. Whenever I forget this, it just results in a mix error. Basically, I stopped using it all together because it is so buggy. There are other bugs too but once you test it out you will see what I mean. Video 1 shows the software fx not selected but when I trigger it, it picks fx1. It shouldn’t pick anything if none are selected.
Video 2 shows software fx 2 selected but when I trigger it, it picks both fx1 and fx2.
Video 3. I flipped to hardware fx and when I trigger it, it picks software fx1.
Basically, you have to click around a bunch of times before it figures itself out and starts working properly. I’m guessing the same behavior exists on the Rane Performer with the fx panel being identical.
I’m really regretting this purchase at this point and I should have brought it back when I submitted the initial bugs that still haven’t been resolved. Please fix, I really love everything else about this controller minus these bugs with DJay pro. These bugs do not happen when I use Serato and other software.
The best way to reproduce this is to turn the controller off and then back on and then reconnect via usb.
