Could it be Rane and Algoriddim are figuring out compatibility on both the System One and Performer since they are the two controllers with screens? Do you all think they’ll work out the hardware limitations and software to make them work with one big update to software and firmware? I’m hoping we get BOTH (performer and system one) going with ios
P.S (I should’ve done my research, but I was positive the performer worked with iOS. Sadly mistaken, however, on the Mac Djay Pro is AMAZING with the Performer)
I think InMusic are focusing their energy on making Engine stable with all their current standalone devices before release, and that is the reason for the delay. They also now have the midi 2.0 issues to content with which will also be causing a delay in the release of the new version of Engine.
Hi @DJ_A_Diffrance, the firmware work that is underway at RANE is specific to the System One. The work being done on this has nothing to do with the Performer and class-compliance.
@DJ_A_Diffrance, it still wouldn’t hurt to contact RANE support yourself. As far as I know, it should be possible to make the Performer Audio and MIDI class compliant with a firmware update. However, I could be wrong and perhaps there’s also a physical hardware limitation with the Performer.
I haven’t heard anything, but I did join the club, and reached out to Rane. I was told they’d pass along the recommendation. Hopefully something happens soon, if at all. I bought the Performer thinking it was class compliant already. Destroyed my dreams of taking my 17 Pro Max out instead of my laptop. lol.
it would be awesome) if they do this support, I will also switch to performer) since vinyls + mixer are very heavy for a mobile DJ) also the needles are very sensitive to vibrations and dust) I am looking forward to performer > ios!
And here’s something else that’s really interesting: if they add iOS support, they’ll essentially be creating a competitor for themselves—Rane System One. I wonder if that’s really in their best interest…
Yes, my initial thoughts were exactly the same. Then, I thought they could run the risk of losing potential, and current customers as well. I would sell my performer in a heartbeat if a 4 channel, moving platter deck, compatible with djay pro, and class compliant came out. The Mixon 8 Pro is nice, but I need those moving platters nowadays.
Hi @Polyura, I confirmed with engineering that these are the correct settings. Pre-Cueing is handled internally with this device so the setting of None is correct with the RANE Four.
I just traded my Rane Performer and picked up a Rane One MKII. Not being class compliant with iOS was one of the main factors for getting rid of my Performer.
I’m really confused as to why the One series is class compliant but the Performer/Four aren’t.
I wonder if there is a hardware technicality/limitation due to the build
With this controller being class compliant (Rane One Mk2) how are you finding it? I know you’ve just got it so you may wanna reply after you’ve had a good go on it
It’s actually great so far. The integration is much tighter with the One MKII than the Performer.
The only problem I’m having is sticker drift occurs about half a beat…but @Slak_Jaw gave me a suggestion to try that will hopefully eliminate that problem.
I have yet to try the fix, but once I do, I’ll post my results.
But overall, so far so good, definitely feels more intuitive and the vinyl response is way better out of the box when scratching.
