I noticed on my iPad with my rane one m2 the slip light randomly starts blinking . It makes me not use slip as I don’t trust it. There’s no one action that makes it start doing it to .
Hi @CrossFade1200, when creating new topics, please do not forget to answer the questions in our template with specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”.
- Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
- Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
- Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
- Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
- Hardware Firmware Version:
Since this sounds repeatable, can you please capture and share a short screen recording of the issue to help clarify what’s happening? Thanks!
Opps forgot I have the 2022 iPad Pro 6th gen model MP603LL/A with the latest update iPadOS 27.1 rane mk2 firmware 1.2.2
Thanks for the setup details @CrossFade1200. Can you please also share a video of the issue?
ok i got u https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijo1BXhxSaQ here u can see the slip light blinking even after i load a few songs this time its only the left deck that does it make sure to put it at 720 p so u can see better
Hi @CrossFade1200 thanks for the video. I can see the Slip LED blinking on the right deck, but I didn’t notice it on the left deck like you said. Your video is a full mix. Can you give me the timestamp where the blinking starts on the left deck? A few quick things will help us narrow it down:
- Which version of djay are you running?
- Next time the left SLIP light starts blinking, tap the dropdown next to the deck number on the waveform. Does Slip show as on there?
- Are you using the built-in RANE ONE MKII MIDI mapping or a custom edit?
- Does the blinking start right after you touch or back-cue the left platter, or right after you load a track with your hands off the unit?
In the meantime, if the light blinks but Slip shows off on screen, try pressing SLIP once to turn it on and again to turn it off. Let me know whether that clears it. Thanks!
I might have to do a few recordings to get it to have the slip light go off on both. I will check the drop down on my next mix on twitch and kick . Funny enough when I was djing a vr club last night the slip light didn’t go off I did notice something a side note tho slicer will get stuck every now and again I really hope it’s not my deck anyway back to slip https://kick.com/crossfade1200/videos/01a17100-9128-7c8c-b883-e4a4c33d5ebc this is a vlog from last nights live stream I did on kick and twitch
O I always make sure to update djay pro and my iOS I check daily I figure with djay it probably has some fixes and I am running a custom mapping I just added doubles to my fx on and off is all
Hi @CrossFade1200, thanks for the update, and no rush on the recordings.
- Since you’re on a custom mapping, can you switch to the built-in RANE ONE MKII mapping for your next few sessions? Leave everything else as it is. If the SLIP light still blinks on the built-in mapping, we know your edit isn’t the cause. If it stops, we’ll know where to look. You can switch back to your custom mapping right after.
- When it does blink, a quick look at the Slip option in the deck’s waveform dropdown would be really useful, along with a timestamp.
- Also, can you confirm the exact djay version number? The latest iOS release is 5.6.10.
Please make a separate topic for the Slicer issue so it doesn’t get buried here. In your new Slicer Topic, please answer the following questions: When it gets stuck, what exactly happens? Does the Slicer stay on after you exit it, do the pads stop responding, or does the audio keep looping? And does it happen on the built-in mapping too?
Thanks!
