When i record and then play back its much quieter. I have to have the volume and gain pushed right up to return to anything the like original volume. What can I do to change this please?

To clarify, I am using djay pro on the mac. On my iPad the recording level matches the original so it doesn’t seem correct that recordings are so quiet on the mac version. Can anybody advise please?
