I’m use djay pro from iPad with Reloop Flux ,Rekordbox Vinyl Timecodeand it work great. Somehow i had to use CDJ not Tuntable and mixer like DJM-A9 is usb class compliant, iOS/iPadOS device can connect as external sound card without driver but it have a big problem is you cannot select ch.input to use Line. It’s always be a phono on djay Pro.
So I recreate Rekordbox CD Timecode (Line level Output) inverse to phono level by RIAA EQ Curve invert and decrease -40Db. I’m test it work great in Scratch and Mixing, Absolute mode also work fine. RCA cable from CDJ must change from Line to Phono at DJM Mixer then Calibrate DVS.
Just wanted to say thank you and I appreciated you doing and sharing this. I tried the file and it worked great!
I did have some initial troubles but it was just me never having used DVS before on Djay Pro. I’m having trouble remembering what it was that tripped me up for a bit. I think it was the audio routing settings. But when I do remember, I’ll make sure to post it just in case someone else runs into the same issue.
Edit: Oh yes! I remember now. It was exactly as you said: Change the input to “Phono” on the mixer. The signal was coming in low and that’s what reminded me of your comment. It was being displayed as this tiny dot. After, the calibration signal was this cool 3-D set of rings that look like gears. That surprised me because last time I used DVS on another software, it was just this fuzzy circle lol.
Edit2: Also, I remembered something else: Djay defaults to INT mode. How do I know this? Because that’s what also gave me trouble when I first enabled DVS mode. Having not used DVS in a long time, I forgot that was even a thing. After doing all these searches and tearing my hair out, I looked at the screen again and saw “INT” really tiny in a corner. That’s when I remembered it needed to be on either REL or ABS. After that I was good to go. I like using one deck for DVS too so I usually leave the other on INT to instant double to.
Well it kinda works, i think this method works well with ios, on my mac it works, i have the cdj goes into phono and all, but its behaviour is weird, even after calibration, and very unresponsive
This makes me think that djay really need to have input selection either phono or line in/digital and able to save the selection
Sell an official timecode file, long audio file as one that we cam set a cue point, cue A timecode B Inst and C Acapella, ill buy it
FYI most clubs doesnt provide turntable, especiqlly for us resident djs
I responded to this in your other topic, the line/phone setting is a physical switch in the mixer and only very few of them have a pathway for djay to digitally flip that switch.
