Reloop Contour for djay

I feel like this was such a missed opportunity to capitalize on the popularity of the Mixtour Pro!

If you can successfully convince Reloop to bring back the Contour, then it will integrate really nicely with Reloop’s other potential *blank*tour products!

Thanks for sharing @Nguy_n_Nam. I had completely forgotten about this controller. Reminds me of the Behringer CMD PL-1. It’s really too bad that the whole small form factor, modular controllers didn’t get more consumer traction.

I would definitely buy a pair of these to go with my Mixtour Pro. Although, I’m pretty happy having it paired with two Denon LC6000’s…

The LC-6000 is a hugely underrated beast.

Agreed! Too bad they are no longer in production. Hopefully Denon is working on a MK2.

Hopefully also a version with 8 performance pad modes and motorized platters

Also! That would be great.

I still have my Reloop Contours. One controller and one with an audio interface. Built like a tank, decent small jogs and insanely mappable. I think it still works with Windows if you can find the drivers

Nice! Thanks for sharing @Archiesbald. I’m guessing they aren’t class compliant so they aren’t recognized on iOS?

Anyone remember that little Denon beast with the jog wheel that worked on Traktor?

Yeah, drivers required. Needless to say a Mac will just laugh at it.

There was also the Stanton SCS.1d

I went through a phase of modding the EKS controllers. The XP5/10 specifically.

Nice one @Archiesbald

What about that space age looking deck that came out?

The EKS Otus? I bought one. It was way ahead of its time and I’m ashamed to say I never really got my mind around it, having come from turntables. I ended up selling it.

Yeah that’s the one, crazy looking thing that as you say was way ahead of its time

Yeah, I remember being one of the people who was asking for two pitch faders and not getting my head around the touch strip. They built a second one with two faders and it flopped. Real shame.

I would love to see a companion app for the Mixtour Pro. Currently used XONE:K3 which is pretty good tbh. Different sizes bug a little though lol

Great thread! I totally forgot about these devices. I remember looking into some of them when I was considering using Live for DJing, but the gridding and library managent put me off in the end.

Like I said elsewhere, I love the feel of the LC6000s, but I’d prefer a slightly smaller design and maybe a couple of extra mappable rotaries and buttons. The Behringer with a couple of additional pads could work for me too.
