Hello everyone, is it true that the Reloop Mixon 8, just like the Mixtour Pro, unlocks all Djay Pro functions because I don’t understand this, Reloop support wrote me this:
The Mixon 8 Pro (just like the Mixtour Pro) unlocks all functions in djay Pro that can be used with the controller. Algoriddim offers additional content such as extra effects, etc. for which a subscription is required. You can use the Mixon 8 Pro to its full extent with djay Pro without taking out a subscription
The other question is, can I use any controller, such as the Mixon 4 or one from Denon or Pioneer, with the Mixtour so that I have jog wheels?
Yes, you can use multiple DJ controllers in combination with the Mixtour Pro. Just keep in mind that only one can be used for audio output. On iOS, this is normally determined automatically by using the last device you connect as the default audio output. I hope that helps!
Hi.
So, does Mixon 8 unlocks the whole pro app or something is missing?
not very easy to find the info.
Is it a hardware unlock or Mixon 8 comes with a license?
As far as I understand it doesn’t do a 4 deck mode but what does PRO MODE mean for you, what does that mean, I can hardly find anything that can help me, I have the Mixon 4 myself and only want to buy the Mixon 8 so that I don’t have to subscribe to djay and I don’t need a 4 deck mode either, the main thing is neural mix and a few more effects
Hi @mstylez77, basically with the Mixon 8 connected you get all the features of the Free version of djay plus it unlocks Neural Mix, the Sampler and DVS. Please refer to the linked FAQ below for the full list of differences between the Free version and the Pro Subscription:
Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s a good idea at all, it’s either the free or the pro version, the mixon 4 for example only has a free version, the mixon 8 has pro but no 4 deck mode, crossfader fusion, 30+ audio FX etc., who is supposed to understand that when it says on the reloop website that the controller enables all pro functions, so that’s not true
Hi @mstylez77 and @PatriceCros, I understand the confusion here and I agree that we could make this more clear. I just checked the Reloop website and while it does not say that it unlocks all djay Pro features without a subscription, it is somewhat vague. I have already shared this with our team to see what can be done to provide more clarity here. Thanks for pointing this out. I appreciate it!
At least as far as the Mixtour Pro is concerned, I can say from my experience that it’s a pretty complete package. What I was missing were the additional effects that I was used to from the regular Pro version. So I ended up sticking with the subscription, but what the heck, I still have all the features, even if I want to use a different controller or work with the iPad on its own.
@Slak_Jaw is just sad that the Mixtour Pro unlocks everything and according to the info on the site the Mixon 8 does too, it can’t be that difficult to unlock this for the Mixon with a software update, but I just saw that @Chris_R wrote that the Mixtour Pro doesn’t unlock everything either, who is supposed to have an overview of that?
I also wrote to Reloop last week to say that I can no longer use cue to preview the songs, it doesn’t work, I thought maybe I need to do a software update on the Mixon 4, do you think I’ll get an answer, nothing so far and there’s nothing on the internet about how to do it
That was a real cool modular setup… getting itchy fingers to get LC6000 now with my Reloop Mixtour Pro. @Slak_Jaw Does that modular setup work with Windows version of djay as well?
