Subject: Reloop Mixon 8 Pro – Jog Wheel False Touch / Grounding Issue
Hello Algoriddim Support,
I am a user of the Reloop Mixon 8 Pro with djay Pro on iPad.
I would like to bring attention to a recurring issue reported by multiple Mixon 8 Pro users: the jog wheel sometimes incorrectly detects that its touch-sensitive surface is being touched. As a result, the track can unexpectedly stop or behave as if the jog wheel is being held.
From the user reports I have seen, this may be related to grounding/electrical interference rather than djay software itself.
Some users have reported that the problem can be improved or resolved by:
Isolating the controller from the surface it is placed on.
Using a properly grounded/isolated power connection.
Avoiding sharing the same power strip with other equipment.
Connecting the Mixon 8 Pro to a separate power source.
Ensuring that no other equipment is introducing electrical/grounding interference.
There are also reports that Reloop addressed this issue on some units, including hardware replacement and changes related to the jog-wheel sensing system. Firmware 5339 also introduced an auto-detection mechanism related to a component change in the jog-wheel system.
I believe this information could be useful for investigating the issue from the djay side, especially because the problem directly affects the capacitive touch detection of the jog wheels.
Could you please investigate whether grounding or electrical interference can affect the Mixon 8 Pro’s jog-wheel touch detection when used with djay Pro?
I am sharing this information because I have seen many users experiencing similar behavior, and I believe identifying the actual cause could help prevent unnecessary hardware replacements and improve compatibility between djay Pro and the Mixon 8 Pro.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
Ahmad Al-Raish
