Remap "booth level" to "mix cue/master" on GRV6?

Hi!

Is it possible to remap “booth level” to “mix cue/master” on the DDJ GRV6?

I use this knob alot, but on the ddj grv6 its located on a less logical position.

Hi @TonCorleone, welcome to the Community! This depends if that control sends MIDI signals or not. If it does, then you should be able to remap it. I don’t have access to this hardware to check for myself. You can easily check by opening the MIDI Learn tool within djay and rotating the Booth Level. If it displays the MIDI command for this control, you can remap it.

I don’t have the controller yet. Want to be certain before buying.
Could you ask the team?

Hi again @TonCorleone, I just had the hardware team check. The “booth level” and “mix cue/master” are both hardwired to control these volumes within the GRV6 hardware. So it’s not possible to remove the underlying control. However, they do send MIDI in addition, so if you are not connecting speakers to the booth output of the GRV6, then you should be able to MIDI map the Monitor Cue/Mix command to the “Booth Level” knob. Just know that it will be controlling both things at the same time.

Thanks M8!
I really appreciate the quick answers!
That sounds great :+1::+1:

You’re welcome @TonCorleone

Hi again @TonCorleone, keep in mind that the existing cue/master knob mixes audio signals inside the hardware, so if that is set all the way to master there’s no way to overwrite it with any mapping. You’d have to set it all the way to “cue”, then re-map the booth knob to cue/master mix inside djay. That will also ignore the button on the hardware that toggles master cueing.
