- Device model iPad Pro 13 inch (M4):
- Version of operating system: iOS 18.5
- Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2): 5.3.3
- Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): Numark NS4FX (and others have the same problem)
Summary of the issue:
Since recently (latest update?), my remote controls mapped to EQ (high-mid-low) incorrectly affect the NeuralMix EQ instead. I can see it happen on the screen, yet I can confirm that these controls are effectively mapped to track 1&2’s general EQ (high-mid-low). I have the problem with multiple MIDI controllers, so it looks like an issue in the DJay Pro software.
How to reproduce the issue:
Map rotaries to track 1 & 2’s NeuralMix EQ (4 channels). Map other rotaries to track 1 & 2’s general EQ (high-mid-low) which is the default mapping of the Numark NS4FX. Both sets of rotaries now incorrectly control the NeuralMix EQ, even though the mapping specifically mentions the correct mappings.
Hi @StijnDC, welcome to the Community! Please switch the onscreen EQ’s from Neural Mix EQs to Equalizer. Please note this is expected behaviour to allow you to toggle between normal EQs and NM EQs without the need for a custom MIDI mapping.
Thanks for the quick response! I’ll try early next week when I have my gear. If this is indeed the issue, honestly, I think the way you set this up is confusing. Whichever EQ I select in the UI shouldn’t alter the behavior of my mapped MIDI controls. The MIDI mapping has separate parameters for the standard EQ high-mid-low and for the NeuralMix EQ channels, so they should always map to those, regardless of the UI choices, I think.
You’re welcome @StijnDC. It’s not modifying the MIDI commands. It’s simply a toggle switch between the 2 EQ types.
I get that, but I find it confusing that the MIDI controller behaves differently when you switch the on-screen EQ type. Those should be mutually independent, I think.
