YOUR QUESTION:

  1. Do we have the functionality to have a loop set that will activate every time the track hits that point in the track? I can set a loop to be “active” when the track loads, but if I push a hot cue button to start at a different point in the track, that previously active loop is no longer active. I’m so used to this functionality with other software that it seems likely that I’m not understanding how to accomplish this.

An example of the usage would be a track where you know that you’ll almost always mix out at that particular point, and a loop will give you a little safety net if the needed during that mix-out.

Hi @BrianR, you have some options in the djay Settings→General→Song Loading→Activate Loop

Yes, I have that checked and set to “Saved Loop 1”. When I load the track into the deck, I can see that the appropriate loop is active and highlighted. If I simply press “play”, the track will play and loop at the appropriate time without my intervention.

HOWEVER, that loop is deactivated if I use any of the cue points to change to a different starting point for the track, and then I have to interact with the laptop to set that loop to active again. I think the preferred behavior would be for that loop to stay active regardless of using the hot cues (in this case, the hot cue buttons on the Mixtour Pro).

Is there any way for me to adjust that behavior?

@BrianR, in the Advanced Settings, try turning off Deactivate Loop When Jumping Outside of Loop

That setting change solved the issue. Thanks!
