YOUR QUESTION:
SD card in built-in Mac SD slot not detected in USB Library (works via USB-C hub)
djay Pro 5.6.5 on two Macs: iMac Pro (2017) and MacBook Pro M4
An SD card (128GB, HFS+) mounts normally in Finder when inserted into the built-in SD card slot on either Mac, but djay’s USB Library does not list it.
The same card inserted into an SD reader on a USB-C hub appears in USB Library immediately, and the OneLibrary export and playback work correctly.
Full Disk Access is enabled for djay Pro. Is the built-in SD slot supported for USB Library / OneLibrary on Mac? If yes, how can I get it detected?
Hi @Gappochan, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the detailed report, and for testing on two Macs and through the hub. That helps a lot.
SD cards are supported for OneLibrary, and HFS+ is a supported format on macOS. The manual doesn’t distinguish between the built-in SD slot and an external reader, so the card should appear under USB Library either way.
Please try these one at a time:
- Update to djay Pro 5.6.9 (you’re on 5.6.5). Then restart the Mac, insert the card in the built-in slot, open djay, and check USB Library.
- If it’s still missing, check whether djay can see the card at all: go to My Files > Add Folder and browse to the card.
Could you also tell me which macOS version each Mac is running?
In the meantime, the USB-C hub reader is a solid workaround, since export and playback already work fine that way. Thanks!
