Search Field - keyboard loses focus and accidentally initiates hot keys

I have an update on this issue! I seemed to have found a way to make it happen…

When you search something in apple music it is fine, but if you click “show all songs” or go into any other “folder” (album/artist/playlist etc.) in the results of the search and then try and search again (click back into the search box and type a few letters) - thats when the search box becomes deactivated! The attached video shows me doing this just now - hopefully this helps?

Thanks for the additional info and video @mp3juggle. This is very helpful!

Hey! Yes that is the issue! But on my setup I don’t need to go to “show all songs” it just does the same error in the first step and on tidal. Thanks for the video @mp3juggle

I have the same problem since the last update of Djaypro.
It runs on a MacBookPro M1 2021 (16Gb RAM, still on Monterrey), i use two controllers an old Numark MixTrackPro3 and a Quneo for triggering loops, neural mix, extra cue points etc. I always disable the keyboard shortcuts cause very often I ran Ableton Live and Volta on the same machine (i still dont believe that this little laptop stands firm with no bugs running stream stem separation/video generation/extra instruments and recording in real time!). But i’ve noticed that (even when i’m just running djay pro with a good connection) the search field for tidal looses the focus, it’s very anoying but i can live with that … this started to happen with the last two updates.

Yes it’s anoying. Sometimes I have to click back into the field for every single letter. Since I disabled shortcuts it feels pretty safe again but still, for every letter in an artist name?

Hi everybody. I have ended here looking for answers since I have experienced the same issue than @Timo_Fielker .

It happens since last Djay Pro update and this weekend I have suffered it several times during two gigs. Typing on the Tidal"s browser suddenly the song that is being played restart (!!) as well as I aren"t able to type more letters and the result is this for some strange reason (a shortcut? Does the cursor change its position to the worst place it could go?) I usually can skip this issue typing very slow, letter by letter, and checking it doesn’t happen, but it can’t be a definitive solution. Following your advices I’m going to proceed to deactivate the shortcuts. If you have any news about this issue don’t hesitate to share it with us, I will appreciate it, thanks!

Hi @Timo_Fielker, @mp3juggle, @Penumbra, and anyone else following this thread,

I just saw the update to version 5.2.8 for my iMac via the App Store and installed it.

One of the fixes listed in the update notes is:

  • Fixed: Cursor sometimes jumps out of the search field unexpectedly.

I haven’t had a chance to test it yet, but let’s hope this also addresses the issue discussed in this thread.

Please share your findings!

Hi! Oh that’s super nice! I can’t find any update yet, I’m in germany. Maybe my app store takes a bit longer. But that’s good news! Thank you all!

Yes.
I am in Netherlands and have it since this morning, but already read about it since yesterday.
