Searching music on my laptop harddrive

YOUR QUESTION:

  1. Hopefully someone can help, I can’t seem to get search to find tracks within my music folder. This folder has multiple folders and subfolders within it. It will search and find tracks in an individual folder but this is not helpful. I have read this has been a problem in the past has anyone found a fix yet?

Thanks for getting back to me, I’m in the source my files on he left. No controller at the moment. Version of djay is 5.6.5
I’m in my main music folder, if I ask for a track in the search bar on the far right it says no results. What am I missing?

Thanks for the additional info @Rodders.

  1. Are you using Windows or macOS?
  2. Which version of the operating system are you on?
  3. Currently search within the My Files source is limited to the top level folder.
  4. I recommend that you add your music files to the My Collection Source by dragging and dropping files or folders directly from and Explorer window. If you build your folder structure and playlists here, you’ll be able to search subfolders. Adding music to your collection | Algoriddim Support

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I’m using Windows 10. Your advice made sense and was very helpful. I did as you said, I copied my main music folder in to my collection and now can search and find any track. So thank you. It would be really helpful in the future if DJ pro could allow us to search in all folders and subfolders, maybe you could pass this on. Thanks again.
