- Laptop**: Macbook Pro i7 2.6ghz intel core, 32gb ram
- Version of operating system *(macOS Ventura)
- Version of djay *(5.2.9)
- Hardware/controllers used *(DDJ-SX2) it happens offline too
Summary of the issue:
In “My Files” I go to the search window, I toggle to “Search My Files” I start typing in, song title or artist, and I get the spinning wheel for a long time with no results.
If I change it to “Search Folder” then it works as long as I’ve highlighted the folder I want to search in.
This only happens in the “My Files” Section.
This works fine in the “Playlists” section
I have tried this on older versions and it has the same issue, this only happened after I upgraded to DJay 5.2.9
Hi @eecy_cee, sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful! I haven’t been able to replicate this myself so I need to pass this onto engineering. To help communicate the issue clearly, can you please try to capture a short video of it, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Hi again @eecy_cee, I just spoke with engineering and they think you may have an issue with your system Spotlight index.
Please run the command:
mdutil -s /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD
and change the volume if it’s not the default Mac volume then see what the status is.

Hi Slak_Jaw thank you for responding,
You are correct, it is my spotlight thats causing this, to make things faster and stable for me on an oldish intel Mac, I decided to dualboot, my Mac with Ventura/Sequoia, I decided to disable “Spotlight” cause I read how Spotlight causes intel macs to overheat and use up a lot of memory ram,
my laptop is running cooler and uses less memory ram, I didnt realise DJay uses Spotlight, This makes sense now,
As always thank you Slak_Jaw for your help, I truly appreciate it
.
Excellent! Glad that solved it. You’re welcome @eecy_cee. Thanks for the positive feedback - it’s always appreciated
