Searching with One Library

iPad Pro 12.9
Version 5.5

I’ve exported my library and playlists to a USB from Djay Pro on my Mac. The iPad will read the drive fine, and I can browse my playlists etc. When I search, I get 2 options (the tabs at the top of the search bar) - I can search the whole USB or the currently selected playlist. My issue is this - if I try and search the whole USB, it doesn’t work if you break up a phrase - e.g if I want to search for Don’t Look Back in Anger, I have to type consecutive words for it to show in a search. I can’t type ‘Oasis Anger" or "Back Anger’, I would need to type ‘look back’ or ‘in anger’ etc. If I search a playlist then this isn’t an issue and you can search for non-consecutive words. I am so used to typing a couple of words in the artist or song that this is an issue for me. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Edit - sometimes the search of the USB doesn’t work at all, only a search of a playlist. I can click on ‘all tracks’ and search that, but I have to navigate back to that each time. My library is quite big (49k) so could be that? I have to wait 5 minutes after clicking on ‘all tracks’ for them to load in.

Summary of the issue:

How to reproduce the issue:

Hi @Stuart_Cox1, sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks for the details about your setup and the issue. So far we have not been able to reproduce this issue on our setups.

  1. Can you please share detailed specs for your iPad model including built-in storage space and remaining capacity?
  2. Are you connecting the USB drive directly to your iPad or through an adapter or hub?
  3. What file formats are you using for your music files?
  4. What is your USB drive size, format type, remaining capacity and Read/Write Speed?
  5. Do you have another USB you can test with fewer songs?

Hi again @Stuart_Cox1, our engineering team was able to reproduce this and is working on a fix which should be included in an upcoming update (likely 5.5.1). Thanks!

Hi @Stuart_Cox1, 5.5.1 was just released and should address this issue. Thanks!

Thank you! Much appreciated!!!
