Slow Loading songs from collection on external ssd

A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE: initially loading or pre queuing a song from my ssd (internal or external) is delayed by a few seconds.

After initial delay the songs load fast but if I wait a few min, let the song play out then load another song there is a delay again.

almost like it’s waking up the ssd and once it’s active it’s fast. Then goes to sleep again. If that makes sense.

when I first open djay and load a song a pop up says the song is unavailable. I close the pop up and it’s available and loads.

I first noticed it when I moved my collection to a mini SD card in a flush mount card adapter on my Mac. I just assumed it was a limitation of having my collection mounted in a aftermarket adapter and delt with it. It was getting too annoying so I moved back to my external ssd but it’s doing it there too.

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Just wad a few min.

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • My external ssd used to load super fast always.

D) ACTUAL RESULTS:

  • Always an initial delay after a few min. Wait.

Hello, Resurrecting this post.

I upgraded to the newest IOS on mac (Tahoe 26.5) I thought the issue was resolved after update but here is more detail on the issue.

It seems the more time I am Djing and the more time DJpro is “Open” the likelyhood of this issue happening increases. When I first open DJay everything loads fast, all pre-cueing is fast and deck loading. Last night i played for about 4 hours and at the end of my set my pre cues were taking 20 seconds or more and deck loading as well, and continuing to get worse where i thought the program was frozen.

Again, This issue is for the “First” track I pre-cue or try and load, after the first initial slow load the tracks load fast after that if i keep loading them but after i wait a bit (Time until track ends,) it happens again.

Something funky is going on..
