Smart Playlists on Windows

Windows 11 Pro
Djay Pro 5.2 for Windows

  1. I cannot seem to figure out how to utilize Smart Playlists in djay pro 5.2 for Windows. Does this feature even exist on Djay’s Windows platform?

  2. Can someone please point me to any guides / tutorials / videos for Djay pro 5.2 for Windows in English? Multiple online searches only yielded one YouTube video, which is in Italian. I don’t speak Italian.

Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

The product manuals are available on the main site. Unfortunately they’re out of date, and have been for some time. As stated in the other thread (which mentions the Italian video) you can enable subtitles.

This guy makes a lot of djay Pro videos:

Hi @TheSilverStreak, Smart Playlists are currently not support for djay on Windows. Regarding the user guides and tutorials, our team is working on this, but we don’t yet have any official news to share. I’ll report back here in the Community when we do though.

That’s disappointing news, but I appreciate the response.

When is it planned to be supported? Shouldn’t be that hard to bring it over from the Apple systems… (Not mentioning that the Android version has zero playlist capability)

We still don’t have smart playlists for PC???

Hi @Djeuri8, welcome to the Community! Correct. Smart Playlists are not yet supported on Windows.

Add it to the list of other things that are “not supported” on Windows (or just not supported at all).

Smart playlists

Video output

Tag editing

Full quality stem separation

Screen support for Denon DJ products

DDJ-RZ (yet SZ is supported)

It’d be no surprise to hear of other things too.

Thanks for the list @PKtheDJ. We are getting a little off topic here, but did you notice that the Windows manuals have been updated though? djay Pro for Windows | Algoriddim Support

Hello everyone, I’ve changed this topic from a question to a suggestion so you can all up vote for this feature. Thanks!

NOTE: Please use the search function above before posting to avoid creating duplicate topics.

  • Please consider sharing a short video or screenshots to help clarify your suggestion

YOUR SUGGESTION:

Smart Playlists:

The implementation of “Smart Playlists” based on metadata rules (e.g., filtering tracks by specific BPM ranges or Genre tags automatically) would significantly improve music management and preparation.

Hi @djdeklame, I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one. Please vote above so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!

Could you please explain how one can “up vote” as you mentioned in your post? I don’t see anything here that allows one to “vote.” Thanks.

Hi @TheSilverStreak, it’s the big blue Vote button at the top left of this page.

“If it had teeth…” Thanks. I guess I didn’t scroll up that far.

Related / unrelated: So now we have the ability to vote for Smart Playlists in Windows. Can we also create the ability to vote for the other wishlist items mentioned by PKtheDJ? They mentioned:

Add it to the list of other things that are “not supported” on Windows (or just not supported at all).

Smart playlists

Video output

Tag editing

Full quality stem separation

Screen support for Denon DJ products

DDJ-RZ (yet SZ is supported)

I would like to add “Smart Crates” similar to Serato’s version of that.

Thanks!

You’re welcome @TheSilverStreak . Happy to help. I recommend that you first search within the Suggestions category of this community so see if any exist for those feature requests. If there aren’t any, then you are welcome to create a new suggestion topic for each one. Then other users can upvote them and we can gauge user demand for them. I hope that helps.

Hi again @TheSilverStreak, here you go!

  1. Video Mode: Add Video Mode to Windows - #27 by Slak_Jaw
  2. Tag Editing: Editable Metadata within djay Library (Windows) - #28 by djcanitamix
  3. 100% Neural Mix Quality: this is already supported on Windows ARM devices.
  4. Denon screen support: Denon SC Live Screen Support - #19 by STU-C
  5. DDJ-RZ support: DDJ-RZ official support

I find it disappointing that we are expected to vote for things that are already available in djay Pro on other platforms. They can clearly be achieved, so why are Windows users being left behind?

:man_facepalming:

It’s not much use only having 100% stem quality on ARM when most of us are using Intel or AMD.

I doubt many would be prepared to buy a new PC where normal Windows apps have to run under emulation or are incompatible, just to get the same functionality that competing software achieves easily on non-ARM systems.

Thanks for the input as usual @PKtheDJ
