"Smart" tempo slider on the FLX4 not working

I recently have been playing around with Djay on an iPad pro (gen 2) and have been enjoying the feature where songs will automatically get their tempo shifted when you mix them together. When I hooked up my DDJ-FLX4, that feature went away, even when I had the “smart fader” button selected. Is there something I’m missing here?

Hi @shmimel, welcome to the Community. Please note that the Smart Fader functionality is not currently supported in djay. However, our dev team is working to add support for this in an upcoming release. I’ll report back here when I have more news. In the meantime, you can still perform this function using the onscreen controls. I hope that helps!

Thank you so much for responding! I think it’s so awesome that y’all are doing constant development, and I look forward to when that feature is implemented!

You’re welcome @shmimel

In the meantime @shmimel, you could MIDI map a different available button to Transition to Right and another to Transition to Left. This will perform an auto-transition according to your Crossfader FX settings. Since the Smart Fader button on the FLX4 is currently not MIDI mappable in djay you will need to use other buttons. I personally recommend using SHIFT+Play/Pause for each deck.

Interesting! I will have to give that a try. Thank you again for all of the help!

You’re welcome @shmimel

MIDI mapping of the Smart Fader button was added in djay 5.2.6. At the bottom of the mappings list there are the mappings “Smart Fader (Echo)” and “Smart Fader (Reverb)” and they can be changed.
