I got VJay a few months ago and I’m really digging it. I’ve just gotten into video projections and this seems like the perfect app. But there are a few requests that I have. It might be worthwhile to mention that I don’t VJ with music videos. In fact, I don’t use the audio from the video clips what-so-ever. I use this as a means of looping and mixing/switching between video clips that I eventually feed into my LZX video synth (LZXindustries.net), which eventually gets projected.
Here’s my wishlist!

It would be nice to see the names of videos along with a thumbnail

Ability to organize files within app (into folders, alphabetical, etc)

Longer looping (ie. 8, 16, 32 bars!!!), or…

Ability to set right and left margins for very long looping (ie. looping start and stop points). Some of the videos I use have text (titles, credits, etc) at the begining and end and it would be nice to be able to set loop points in between the text. Also, some videos I have are compilations, and it would be nice to set loop points to select a specific scene and/or part of a video.

Allow for manual control of Fisheye and Twirl positioning with the X-Y control

Rotate view. Some of the videos I have need to be rotated and it’s a bitch to have to go into some video editing software to rotate them like that. Would be nice to do it within the VJay app.

Allow for faster/slower playback. 50%, 100%, 200%!!!
Figured I’d also take this opportunity to point out a few glitches I’ve encountered:
- video struggles briefly when opening videos folder
- Video sometimes briefly (~1 sec) goes black when it goes back to the beginning of a loop. This only happens when it’s set to 4 bars
- Video struggles briefly and goes black when scrubbing too fast.
Other than that, this software is amazing! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and was the best $10 I’ve spent so far on my entire video rig
