A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

  • I bought a new IPad and transferred all data and settings from my 2021 IPad (which worked out fine. Made all Playlists and settings on that device). All Playlists were immediately there, but all songs were “greyed out”. If i try to load a song it says: “Title not found” (Titel konnte nicht geladen werden). All Files are in the exact same file structure since I only mirrored the pad via the built-in tool by apple. Now I started to delete the missing songs from the playlist, relocated them manually and put them in the playlists again. Most files worked, some files are completely wrong now. It are simply complete wrong songs and cover artworks, but the song title and artist is displayed correctly. I tried to reanalyze the songs in djay pro. I even changed the name of the folder with the original files and the names of the files themselves. Everytime I load those songs in again, It’s the same problem. Can anyone help? All depending songs are saved on the device. No cloud, no streaming

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. See above. Don’t know if it’s just a problem on my device and how to solve it.

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Songs should be correct with music, artwork and idtags

D) ACTUAL RESULTS:

  • See above. Some single songs (sometimes 1 or 2 are wrong, the rest is correct; sometimes the whole Playlist is wrong)

Hi @clubganger, welcome to the Community!

  1. Can you please share specifically the Apple process you used to transfer/recover your new iPad?
  2. It sounds like perhaps you didn’t wait long enough for all of your music files to properly download to your new device before trying to access them in djay. Please note that if you have a very large music library, this can take several hours to complete.

Hi there and thanks for replying!

I switched on my new ipad beside my old one. The old Ipad asked me, if i would like to transfer all the data and settings automatically. I agreed, waited until it said its finishied and started djay pro on the new device.

My workaround for this issue was to retransfer the wrong songs to my new device. In most cases it worked out, in some cases i had to make a copy of the original file, rename it and change some of the id3 tags. After doing this, i transfered them to the new pad and it also worked out. 2 or 3 songs are still linked wrong. It doesnt matter what i do, djay pro still shows the wrong songs.

You can close this topic for now, since i made a workaround, but it bothers me a lot and it was a hell of a work. Next time i would install the app from the store and put all music in manually i guess.

Thanks

You’re welcome @clubganger. Thanks for the additional info. Sorry to hear you’re still having issues with a few songs. I’m not sure what to suggest at this point unfortunately. It sounds like you probably didn’t wait long enough for all of your media files to fully download from the cloud before starting djay. Then your manual copying process caused some additional confusion. In the future, I recommend that you wait overnight for all media to fully download first or backup your iPad to a Mac and perform the recovery process to you new device via a wired connection to your Mac. This will be quicker than downloading from the cloud over WiFi. I hope that helps!
