Some songs cannot be dragged to other applications - the drag operation appears to start, but target applications cannot accept the drop. However, dragging the same files from Finder (after using “Reveal in Finder”) works correctly, and songs become draggable after being played in DJAY.
This suggests DJAY is not providing proper drag data (specifically, URL-flavored pasteboard data that macOS applications expect)
When DJAY fails to provide drag data, macOS logs show:
Couldn't get a copy of a URL-flavored data from the pasteboard
Looked for URLs on the pasteboard, but found none
Dragging songs directly from DJAY should not require playback before they become draggable.
Let me give u my experience draggin tracks off djay playlist onto serato:
If I opened a playlist and quickly select ALL and drag onto serato, only 16 tracks sitting on the first “page” visible on screen goes over deapite selecting the entire playlist of, say 100 tracks.
To remedy this, i must open playlist, then scroll all the way to the last page of the list (bottom), then select all n drag. Only then will all 100 tracks go.
Basically, djay needs to fully read the tracks before it can allow drag operation. If you open a playlist, you will see artwork appear for the first tracks on top of page, but if you quickly scroll to bottom of list, artworks would momentarily be missing for them b4 appearing, meaning djay is still doing something for those tracks at the bottom
Perhaps you might wonna try my workflow and see if it solves the problem for you
