Hardware/controllers used Pioneer S11 - Pioneer CRSS12 - Rane Twelve MKII:
**Your question:
In the past I have used Serato Pro as my main DJ software, but have now chosen to switch to djay pro. It’s a bit unusual, but I also think that there are some small bugs in the new update that make the software not work as it should.
One of the things I’m struggling with now is that songs that have been played are not marked as Played. They are not added to the History list either. I thought maybe I played the songs too short, but now I’ve tried everything. Also with full length of songs. I have tried mixing with channel faders and cross faders. Have tried most things. I have also tried the “Color highlight played tracks” function.
Every now and then a song gets added to the History list. Last night I played 150-200 songs at a gig and 6 songs were added to the library but not marked as played in the playlist.
Anyone have an idea of what I can try here? Is this a bug or is it a function I do not know about?
PS: If I use “AutoMix”, everything works as it should. The songs at marked and I can find the played songs in “History”.

Hi @K.A.I, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue. I have forwarded this to the engineering team to see if they can reproduce the issue and offer any suggestions. In the meantime, can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
Hi again @K.A.I, I spoke with our engineering team and it sounds like you might be using external mixer mode with the DJM-S11. For this to work with the history you need to be using our latest mapping files. Please check in the djay Settings>MIDI Devices>MIDI DEVICES>Pioneer DJM-S11 and ensure that you are using the built-in mapping for the S11. Thanks!
Hi. Thank you for great support. After many many many hours of testing, I have found the cause. 100% sure. I have tested the “built in” Midi mapping, and I still had the same problem with not marking the played songs. The problem is if you do not use the crossfader when mixing tracks. If the crossfader is placed in the middle and you just use the channelfaders, the music files you have played will not be marked and they will not be put in the history function. After I found out about this I have both tried with the “built in” and my modified Midi mapping. Both of them works perfectly. It would be great if there was a solution for this problem. There are many of us not using the crossfader constantly. Again… Thank you for fast reply and good support!
You’re welcome @K.A.I. Great work in isolating the issue! Thanks for sharing. I have shared your findings with the engineering team to see if they have any further suggestions. I’ll report back when I have news. Also, I’m with you, I mainly mix with the channel faders.
