Sorting by BPM mixes x1 and x2 values

Hello, I have an issue with my library while sorting by BPM. It sorts but mixes “single time” and “double time” values.

I started having this issue just recently, maybe a month or two ago. All of the tracks I have as mp3 files. I’m using:

iPad 9th generation
iPadOS 18.7.1
djay 5.5.2

Anyone else is experiencing this?

Hi @Stepan_Jordanek, welcome to the Community! Are you wanting to double the BPM of the half-time songs or are you happy with the current BPMs, but don’t want the half-time and double-time songs sorter together?

Hi, thanks for a quick response. The current bpms are correct so it’s only a matter of the way they are sorted.

Okay thanks for clarifying @Stepan_Jordanek. I’ll reach out to our engineering to see what they have to say.

Hi again @Stepan_Jordanek, please note that if you make a change to the BPM by doubling or halving it in djay, you need to then reboot djay before it will sort properly by the new BPM. Please try this and let me know if that helps. Thanks!

Hello @Slak_Jaw, I checked and I believe the tracks where I had to double the value are the problematic ones. However, restarting djay (which I do on daily basis) didn’t help.

Thanks for the follow up @Stepan_Jordanek. I’ll share this with our engineering team to see if they can reproduce it.

I have the same problem on my iPad (iOS 26.2). When sorting, Djay ignores the current BMP and sorts by the originally analyzed BMP instead. Very annoying. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Hi @djay_user, welcome to the Community! Please close djay and follow the procedure below to perform a Forced Restart of your iPad: Force restart iPad - Apple Support (IE)

If the issue persists, can you please capture and share a short video of the issue to help clarify what’s happening? Thanks!

Thanks @djay_user. Can you please upload your video directly instead? I’m on vacation and away from my computer so I can’t download via your link. Thanks!

Thanks for the video and additional info @djay_user. I’ve passed this onto our engineering team for further review.

Hi @Jbeez, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Can you please share some screenshots of the issue and upload a couple of the songs you’re having this issue with? Thanks!

More information and data will help the engineering team to identify the root cause of the issue as this is not affecting all djay users (myself included). However, I understand if you do not want share further information. I will let the team know. Thanks!

Got it! Thanks @Jbeez
