Sorting by source no longer present in newest versions

  • Device model: Ipad M4
  • Version of operating system: Ios 18.6 newewest
  • Version of djay: updated as of aug 20
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): Reloop Mixon 8 Pro

Summary of the issue:
Not sure if this is a bug or a suggestion but a previous version of djay pro a few months back allowed sorting by source in playlists. This was very helpful for cleaning up sources to prevent trying to recruit streaming track versions when one intended files. And also to consolidate library in cases where I obtain the file of a track so can remove redundant streaming version. This came up trying to record a few sets where I have to make sure the versions are file version or it won’t allow recording. I want to be able to clear all streaming based tracks from my library in general (if someone requests a song that I don’t plan on keeping I want to easily be able to get rid of it from my library). This is also important when trying to sync across different programs like rekordbox… need to be able to differentiate sources of the library easily. Not sure why this was removed as an option.

How to reproduce the issue:
Go to music (library overview playlist) and in sort there is artist, title. bpm, etc but no longer “source” which previously was there.

Please bring back sort by “Source” it is a very useful tool for my workflow when building set lists and organizing my library!!

Good catch @17mics, this is definitely a regression. The team will investigate and bring this back in an upcoming update.

Hello,
I am following up and wondering if we can expect to see sorting by “Source” option soon or if I am missing something? As of now when I open the program on my iPad Air (M2 2024) I do not see that as an option. I am currently running version 5.4.4 and using iOS 18.6.2
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi @FITDJc, thanks for checking in. The team is still working on this and I don’t have a specific timeline to share. I’ll share more news here when I have it.

Hi @17mics and @FITDJc, 5.5.1 was just released and should address this issue. Thanks!

Thank you so very much!

You’re welcome @FITDJc
